I have nearly come of age to drive (17 on July 5th!!) I am just filling in the application form for my provisional and have ticked the box saying "Any condition affecting both eyes, or the remaining eye if you only have one eye" Everything else I have filled in on the form is normal. So what is th next stage after I've sent it off? Do the reject it if I have ticked that box? Does that mean I won't be able to drive?! Because I desperately want to!? Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Tom
Thanks Tom

From what I understand, what happens next is you will also need to fill in another form. I think it will probably be the 'Medical Fitness to Drive' V1 online, if you look on the previous posts relating to DVLA you will see that Gareth B has posted the web link.
From then on I expect dependant upon how you can answer the questions and other medical advice they may need to request about you, once they are happy you can see the required legal distance I would expect they will issue you with a license.
fingers crossed

Hi Tom i am also 17 and i have a provisional liscence and i am now not far away from taking my test. so as long as you fill the right things in then you will be fine, i think
best thing you can do, like i did, is to see your optician/specialist and get him/her to talk you through it and see if your eyes are ok to drive. Do you wear contact lenses or glases at the moment?
