Thanks, Lou, though it's depressing reading. And this is about people who are registered as blind or partially sighted, which very few people with KC are.

whilst for many they may never meet the requirements for registration, sadly for myself and others this is our reality, it is vital we speak out of our experience to prevent isiolation of others, and give a voice to a already stigmatised condition so if someone finds themself in our situation and predicament it isn't as terrafying and daungting for them as it was for many of us,
tis also important when asking "can KC leave me blind" teh honest truth of YES can be heard, as I asked that question when i was diagnosed n to this day feel lied to as for me the reality is I am legally blind from KC but was told no you wont end up blind as sadly many have the misconception blind simply means no vision at all when the reality it means anything but this and in terms simple to understand legal blindness is when you lack the ability to read anything on teh eye chart even with corrective measures ie lenses or glases

yes this matters because some people are left legally blind or partially sighted, and even if those numbers are few (still matters just as much), let's not forget thr 'part-time partial sight' which is not uncommon to KC which has no formal recognition whatsoever regardless of social consequences.
