Nice Weather

Postby vjs05 » Mon 15 Jul 2013 1:06 pm

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the nice weather we are having.

Is anyone else finding the hot weather both day and night really drying out there eyes? I have found the last week and a half is really affecting my eyes. I take allergy tablets and on optive plus lubricant drops, i had relaxing incisions and sutures put in 4 months ago and dont know if thats why the eyes are ao irritaed with it. Just wondering if anyone is having same difficulties?

Thanks
Vic

Hi Vic,
I remember many years ago going to the south of France when I still had my sutures in and I too felt really uncomfortable with my eyes drying out. And even without sutures, I suspect a lot of people with KC are finding the heat a bit much. All we can do is keep taking the lubricating drops. I don't suppose this weather will last for more than a week or two!
All the best
Anne

Air conditioning does help me actually, I don't get the grease from perspiration in my eyes so much. And so long as the filers are changed/cleaned, there's less dust in the air. But even then, I get to about 6 hours lens wear time and then simply have to take them out and managed with glasses as best I can.

I think Summer is the worst season for people with Keratoconus !

yeh the air con is killing me. I think ive put in drops about ten times today with no affect. Was slightly concerned it was a loose stitch as that happened to one about two months ago and it had to be removed, got infected etc, but pretty sure its just the weather and air con. Waw the fun we face :)
