NEED ADVICE PLEASE!!!!!

Postby cheskMM » Thu 27 Sep 2012 2:35 pm

Hey everyone,
I need some opinions on what to do.
I have had KC for 5 years and currently have RGP's.
I have recently moved to Vienna to be an aupair, but a week before i came I had to get a refitting, and since i got here i feel my eyes have gotten more sensitive to light and the lenses are irritating and making my eyes very soar, so i am unable to wear the lenses.
i have glasses, but they don't help much, maybe only reduce glare a tiny bit but dont actually help my vision at all.
Today i had an appointment with a KC specialist, it went ok but he hadnt seen these type of lenses until today, so he couldnt help much.
Basically, im here till December but have the choice to go earlier if i wish.
I could stay here for a few more month just wearing glasses, but that mean i cant study or i could go home and go to my specialist in Newcastle and sort everything earlier.
I dont want to regret going home early but i dont feel i am getting the full experience here without good vision.
STUCK!!

any advice??

Have you contacted your UK fitter for advice? That would be my first step as they would have more idea what was causing your issues?

Ahh Understand...

At the risk of again stating the obvious, have you asked the practitioner you saw in Vienna to talk to the practitioner in the UK? Between them they might sort this out. If language is a barrier then perhaps try to find one who is fluent in English?

it sometimes takes a while to find a practitioner who is really expert in keratoconus...7
