Hi, I am dinesh, got C3R treatment done in july 2008
As per the pantacam reports my k reading (curvature) has improved from max of 57 to 54 but cornea thickness is getting less.
june 2008- pre C3R
cornea thickness 481(R)473 (L)
july 2008- C3R treatment both eyes
july 2009 one yr post C3R
462(R) 457 (L)
nov 2010
459(R) 449 (L)
need to see the the doctor for latest reports. If cornea continues to lose thickness it is big concern. pls advise me whether this will stop
Thanks Dinesh

Hi,
Still, it seems that the progression from 2009 to 2010 is very slow and it is possible to depends on device parameters. Please keep update with values from this year. I also had cxl with eppi off 3 months ago.
All the best...

Dinesh,
You say you had C3R. This is a patented name for Epi on crosslinking. Epi off cross linking is called CXL. Which one did you have?
As far as pentacam readings go, they can be variable. I have seen cases where it seems to go down AND up on different occasions and it also depends on whether its the same machine or whether it has been recalibrated between visits (which is entirely likely). Also - are these figures central thickness or thinnest areas?
See from this point of view, there has been no real change in the right eye and only a very slight one in the left.

Lynn,
What is the significance if the "thinnest area".
I see those in my scans too, sometime my thickness(thinnest area) increases across scans, and decrease in the next scan.
Difference is somewhere between 1-7. But when i look at all the points, it looks pretty stable
Once it was 545 and next tine 540 and sometimes it increased too.
Is this something to worry about when it comes to thinness, or should we take an overall look at the thickness at all points and make a conclusion.
cheers
