decision time ,for Cornea graft

Postby ruralrob » Thu 24 Mar 2011 9:59 am

Hi all ,well I saw my surgeon last week 6 weeks after my surgery to correct the squint which went well ,we discussed the possibility of having the cornea graft done but he kept stressing there is a chance I would get double vision as my eye hasn’t had vision for quite a number of years .he said this would be very hard to correct and could mean having to cover the eye all the time to avoid this .I have decided to go back in 3 months and give it a lot of thought .I manage ok with just vision in my right eye ,but the KC has caused a very large white scar to develop over the cornea ,which is my main hang up .Any thoughts appreciated .Rob . I should add pre squint surgery my Diopters (not sure on spelling ) was 45 and after surgery is now 6

fortunately i only have KC in my left eye .because I have had it for so long it caused me to develop a squint ,so I had surgery for this 6 weeks ago ,although the surgeon has managed to get it visibly straight it is still a little of center ,this is why he is saying there is a possobility of double vision ,i am hoping if the operation is a success then the eye would then align itself correctly
