Kerasoft IC is a silicone hydrogel soft lens for Irregular Corneas.
Clear Kone is a hybirid (sometimes referred to as a soft perm), it has a soft skirt bonded in some way to a gigid gas permeable optic zone.
Yhety haev however made the assumption just like the manufacturers that the visiual axis is centrally loocated. It has recently been found that where the topography machines can't get a reading isn't always down to the KC but because it is assuming the visual axis is centrally located.

Thanks for the post. Had I look at the websites but cannot see any reference to them being in the UK yet. Are they only available private or have they made it in to the NHS system.
As a secondary point do lenses have to be cleared by NICE before they are available on the NHS ?

George
I think that we have a far wider range of lenses available at Gartnavel than is common in the rest of the NHS. Certainly the optometrists at Gartnavel seem more willing or more free to try different lens types and materials than other hospitals. In that way we see how good things could be, with a little good will, in the whole of the NHS.

Rats had a look on the No7 website and my eyes are to far gone. The power ONLY goes as far a -15D and I am up at the -25 mark (you have to
) . Still good luck to anyone else who is suitable, Guess I'll keep pushing the nice lady at the hospital to give me a Piggy Back. Stand alone RGP is driving me up the wall
