KC lens fitting aftercare

Postby BurnTheAction » Mon 23 Aug 2010 8:47 am

Anyone else feel this is sorely lacking? If you receive a lens you aren't happy about, that isn't stable, or feels awful it seems your only avenue of hope is to contact the hospitals administration and try to explain your problem to someone who generally has no knowledge of the condition.

Actually getting hold of the person who fits your lenses and has knowledge of KC is near impossible. Meanwhile you struggle on with work and actually having a life, before finally being told they can schedule an appointment in 4 - 6 weeks.....what exactly are you supposed to do for a month and a half, sit in a dark room? Only if you really kick up a fuss do you get seen in any sort of decent timeframe, it really shouldn't be like this.

I personally feel the NHS is a disgrace, and I hear people say why complain it is free, well it isn't because we pay for it out of our wages through taxes and ni. And if it was private it wouldn't cost us anything because we would sue it through consumer direct for a poor service, do hope you get things right soon, as it can be very difficult :D
