Glasses adjustment

Postby Loopy-Lou » Fri 01 Jan 2010 6:30 pm

I don't know why but I'm finding it hard to adjust to my reading glasses [which I use on top of my RGP]. Maybe it's because I haven't had to build up wear time like you do for a lens in many years but I don't really know how to describe it, it's like everything goes out of focus, I don't know whether it's brain thing or an eye thing

I found the adjustment to Reading glasses quite hard for the same reason. My optometrist smiled indulgently when I told him and said that was supposed to happen. The Reading glasses would bring the text in a book into sharp focus, but throw everything else out if focus.

:(

happy new year, Lou!

Thanks Andrew, it's a relief to know I'm not alone, I thought it was just me being a pain

Hi there,

A couple of years ago the optician said that I now needed reading glasses - only very mild ones, but the thing is that when I put them on nothing seems any sharper than before. I've tried perserving but to be honest have now given up.
Thought it was just me - perhaps I should try again

Kind regards
Libby

Thanks Libby, it is odd isn't it because adjusting to lenses is far greater really, try them on the very small print and see how much clearer it is.
