Hi All,

Apologies if this has been brought up before but just wanted to know if anyone had tried either of the 2 lenses above?

I'm due in for a consultation tomorrow and just wanted to get other peoples views.

Over the last couple of years I have worn Toric's and rigid lenses but now need a complete package.

Firstly, let me explain the 'edit' to your post. We have in the past been threatened with legal action, so one of the conditions for using the forum is that we do not discuss by name the work of individual optometrists etc.

That said, you do raise an interesting question. One of the forum users has described keratoconus as a 'bespoke' condition, with each of us having a version individually tailored to maximize our inconvenience

The best lens for me might not be the best for you! This is why it is so important to be fitted by an optometrist who knows keratoconus and is experienced in fitting lenses to KC eyes.

Unfortuantly there is no one lens fits all solution yet although that is the goal of many manufacturers.

My left lens used to be a Rose K RGP and the right a Toric RGP lens which unfortunatly I became intolerant to.

Now i am on the silicone hydrogel lenses for irregualr corneas which includes KC.

So to find something that is right for you, it might involve several trips trying differnt lens designs and materials. From my experience if your optom refuses to try one type of lens on you, insist that it is tried. I was told some lenses wouldn't work and when we tried them, we actually found they did, so there are some exceptions to the few rules there are for lens fitting.

i've had the synergy eye hybrid lens but found it quite difficult as either i had allergy to it or due to the fact that my eyes were dry constantly even after putting drops in and after 2 seconds they would be dry again making it painful to move. i ended up with acute infection it was so bad. giving it a miss.

you do have to put wetting droips in 4 or 5 times a day as they do go dry.
