Come and see us at London Sight Village

Postby Anne Klepacz » Tue 03 Nov 2009 2:42 pm

This year's London Sight Village is on Wednesday 11th November at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street W8 7NX (very close to Kensington High St tube) from 10am to 4.30pm. If you have an hour or two to spare during the day, why not go along? There will be loads of stands from companies that supply specialised IT equipment for those with sight problems, electronic equipment, low vision aids and stands manned by all the major eye charities. The KC Group will also have a stand at the exhibition this year, so come and say hello.

Only just read this.
(blame computer problems)
How did it go?????
Was it worth going? - I remember meeting Anne there last year, and talking about whether the KC group could and should do a stall.
Hope it was a great success with lots of contacts made, and amybe new members.
Rosemary

Sorry you missed this, Rosemary - I was looking out for you! Yes, we did have a good day. Lots of people took business cards and leaflets from us - rehab workers, social services, employment advisers. And we got some new members, including a couple of people who had had KC for years and had no idea the Support Group existed. They were delighted to find us.
So definitely worth having a presence there, and we'll hopefully do it again next year. And there was all sorts of amazing new technology on display - there are lots of companies producing IT software, magnifiers of all descriptions and other aids for people with low vision.
