Oh Claire - that's awful. I do hope your relapse is shortlived. Wishing both of you a speedy return to health. Why do such rotten things happen to such lovely people?

((Hugs))
Take things easy, both of you. You mean too much to all of us for either of you to take chances with your health.
All the best

Re: Bit of a scare!
I think we need a convelecence home for us all!
I've just been signed off work for the second week. Completly unrelated to lenses, I can see perfectly but due to my medication (and some would say I've needed to be on some for some time now!) I am unable to drive.
My dear wife is the one I feel sorry for as she is having to get used to driving the Capri so we can keep good on some Capri 40th Anniversary commitments we have been invited to.
You'll get used to this, now you are married, it's not often you look intently at each each other.
Hope you are both well on the road to recovery like me.

Re: Bit of a scare!
Could it be a full blown migraine? I get the works: patchy vision, headache and nausea leading to vomiting. The doc has given me pills to take at the first sign ( in my case a slightly elevated sense of touch). If I wait for the visual distortion, it's too late and Im in for a bad time.

Re: Bit of a scare!
Wow - what a thread already!
To answer some questions...
No, I wasn't given a pressure test, despite my suggestion to the SHO who was examining my eyes. The ophthalmologist was more concerned about a TIA surprisingly, but probably because she was of the opinion that it was BOTH eyes I was complaining about, even if one (my good eye) obviously had a more pronounced effect.
At aged 44, I am a little old for my first migraine (if that's what it is), but Claire's just found a site that says migraines can start between ages 10-46.
I'm so lucky to have Claire - I would have certainly ended up in hospital for a week (slowly getting more ill quite likely) were it not for her. I had my own personal nurse - in the hospital as well as at home, and I'm incredibly grateful. I made sure to buy her flowers, too - and that was before she let on about her relapse.
I see the GP on Monday - hopefully he will have my results by then. I'll certainly keep the forum updated!
Thanks for all your good wishes.
John

Re: Bit of a scare!
John,
You have much to learn about married life
You've set your self a president now, Claire is going to expect flowers everytime she nurses you and if she thinks she's nursed you and you don't get the flowers you'll soon find yourself sleeping alone
I am going to have to make sure Sue doesn't see this otherwise she's going to want flowers after she drives the Capri to a big event at Donnington this weekend

Update
Saw my GP the other day, and I have a bit of an update.
The LP results are clear
BUT
The lab hadn't been notifield of the test, and came across my sample on a shelf 12 hours later.
My GP then suggested that the test results cannot therefore be relied on.
She is now thinking that I should have had a CT scan, not an MRI, and that I may have had Amaurosis fugax and has referred me to see a neurologist. Going private this time, so avoiding the NHS hospital that is causing me grief!
More updates to follow once I've seen the consultant.

Re: Bit of a scare!
amaurosis fugax??
wot's that??!
SOme lab tests are moretime critical than others.
One would like to hope if the best time horizon was well past, the lab wouldn't have tested and reported.........
Good luck with the ceurologists.
