In the last week since the conference I have found myself having to use my eye drops I got on rx every 2 hours often once a hour, got thru a full tube. Eyes incredibly dry. Hospital still being pains and wont give me anythingbefore Aug 14th.

Blureness and not seeing things getting worse by the minute, think I am going crazy.

Any suggestions?

What eye drops are you using?

As everybody knows I use Clinitas soothe (they suit me). Others use different drops; I am afraid that with KC it is often a matter of finding the drops that suit us best and sticking with them.

I was encouraged to keep looking when Gareth used to post about how well he got on with Systane. The great thing about his posting was that he never said that what suited him would suit everybody, but that he had kept looking until he found the drops that worked for him.

IT was the Viscotears liquid I got thru in a week, next plan of attack to try I have a few of the Blink ones the pharamist gave me as samples at the start of the week, try them if by 6pm need more go back up there (joys of doctors being open - 8am - 9pm every day of the year - downside I may end up looking like furniture)

When I have experienced problems as bad as you describe I go straight to eye casualty, that way you get problem sorted ASAP before is potentially becomes harder to treat.

AS far as I know there is no eye casuality in Leeds, nor Ben or I can drive. ugh,.

spent most of the last 2 days in bed feel lowsy.

If you go to your nearest casualty by taxi or bus your local A&E should be able to drag out the appropriate consultant to see you. If you are routinely seen in Leeds, the normal A&E would most definitly have one of the eye units bods on call for such an eventuality.

My hospital in Coventry has an eye casualty but that is 15 miles away and 8am to 5 pm only, my local hospital is Rugby only 3 miles away so outside normal hours I go to either and the consutant has to come to me.

They have even transfered me from Rugby to Coventry and back again after my right eye went very red prior to going for an operation. They did the operation and transfered me to Coventry for my eyes to be checked before taking me back to Rugby to recover fully from my operation.

What do you have to loose by going to the normal A&E in Leeds?

I'm with Gareth; go and get your eye seen. In Glasgow the ophthalmological A&E is a separate clinic, except 'out of hours' when walk in A&e patients are seen by the eye ward doctors.

WE live 15mins walk from St James (largest teaching hospital in europe) who have a eye department who are AWEFUL! and have one specialist within it for KC. There is also the General Infirmary in Leeds. As far as I am aware they have no eye facilities as the 2 hospitals tend to have specific area's and split cases between.
