I know about the libel laws, with correct forum rules being there, its not a problem.
as long as there are admin and members rules.
There does need to be somes changes for the future to build on what has been built.
Please pass on my note to the committee as am at the 'grass routes' you could say!
otherwords a 'user of the forum'

Re: Left This Forum because Its Not Open
Actually we already have a very good Administrator; his name is John. We also have a handfull of Moderators.
I am not a member of the committee, but have always thought of the forum's great strength as the way in which it relates to the work of the Keratoconus Self-Help and Support Group. I do feel that if this link were ever to be lost, the forum itself would be very much poorer.
Andrew
p.s. I begin to wonder whether this string may not have come to the end of its natural life; matters concerning the constitution of the Charity may be better discussed elsewhere?
p.p.s. house, it is less than a month since you joined us. Why not wait until you have been around a little longer before telling the people who set up and administrate this very successful self-help and support site that they are no longer welcome?

Re: Left This Forum because Its Not Open
link will never be lost ( forum is part of the same family ) dealing with Keratonus.
Needs to be a change and realise that there has to be open decussion about keratoconus
even with the Optoms area and with a good members rules and admin ( that there is!)
the forum will be well policed.
Also needs to look at how the forum is being run, and could the forum be semi independent
but still under the charities wing. (seems to be conflict between the charity committee and
how a user would see and use the forum) this is easly sorted.
Look at the forum from the users and forum members side.
(Like going into a shop and saying , you carnt shop in that part because
your not proffeshional and we are open 3 days a week.
should be.......... you can shop in every part of the shop and where are open
7 days aweek because we have asked the customers what they want)
All information about Keratonus, Optoms, and how its treated etc, needs to be freely
accessable to a visitor.
Then we can all see what the problems are relating to Keratoconus.

Steady on h. I've been to lots if web pages about KC. None if them is nearly as friendly or informative or supportive as this one.
House - both of us are still a bit new here. I don't pretend to understand the politix or agendas behind your attack on the charity that runs the place but my motto is IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT.

Re: Left This Forum because Its Not Open
Am not attacking the charity or the commitee am trying hard to get them to see things from the users side,
and its rather difficult, and that its important not to have closed areas regarding the subject.
and that as a keratonconus suffrer I know access of information is so, so,important
to all of us.
The Forum is amazing and outstanding and may it evolve and grow better.

Re: Left This Forum because Its Not Open
am closing it now with the words from an american famous doctor.
Open Information on a subject
can be the biggest gift to fight an illness.
Your empowering the sufferer with the
knowledge and shared experiences
to act on the illness.
To hide the subject or not to be able
talk about the subject will help the illness
Lets put all the lights on the subject,
and empower the sufferer and get rid
all of the dark, around the subject.

House had indicated that his last post was intended to close the string; I have therefore locked the topic.
