Hello,
have started to feel the need to use drops with my RGPs, dryness etc. Unfortunately, no matter how careful I am, as soon as the drops go in, my lenses dislodge - all a bit counterproductive.
Had refit appointment at hospital today who said 'fit's as good as it's going to get' and who looked at me like I was mad when I said about my problems with drops.
Am I mad?
Any suggestions?
Many thanks
Sally

Re: Difficulty in applying comfort drops!
you could try:
-try blinking REALLY slowly the first time after your drops have gone in. it takes some control though.
- OR ...looking up towards a mirror- focus on something, and then pull your lower lid outswards and drop the liquid in the bottom lid
-or what about taking the RGP out and putting the drop in the rgp and reinserting it. i do this ALOT because it is more soothing.
-also try a gel- it distorts your vision for a minute or so, but lasts a lot longer and becuase it isnt a flood of liquid, maybe it wont dislodge your RGP. if your hands are clean- you can smear it on the lower lid with your baby finger (although I am sure the doctors will say not to do that.....risk of infection)

Welcome to the forum
Do I understand that you put your drops in while you are wearing your lens? Why not take the lens out, apply the drops (you do not say what they are) rinse the lens and fill it with nice cool saline and then re-insert.
All the best

Re: Difficulty in applying comfort drops!
Andrew,
thanks for your concern! Yes thanks you, much better - comfort assisted by a new pair of lenses!
Sorry for delay, but haven't done so well with internet providers!!!! Tiscali took months to clear our line so I've not had access for ages. Back tp 'normal' now.
Many thanks
