Promoting the Group

Hi Pat here.
I was with my mother the other day and went into the opticians with her to pick her glasses up. This was the opticians that diagnosed that I had KC 16 years ago. We got onto the subject of KC and she had never heard of our group, so I gave her the details of the group. She has said that she will pass on the details to all her patients with KC. It was suggested that all opticians should know about us so they can pass on our details as required. So today I printed off the fliers and went round to all the opticians in Windsor. I had a positive response everywhere that I found in the town centre and they all said that they would look at the site and pass the details to anybody that might be interested.
Only a few hours of my time but a good result I hope.

Good work Pat! Lots of opticians will have little experience with KC so its good for them, good for us, and good for the group's awareness. I'll do that next time I am in an opticians!

Many thanks Pat. And as I'm sure I've said here before, we have KC Group 'business cards' which I can send to anyone who would like to distribute them to opticians, optometrists, hospital clinics. Plus we have a poster which can be displayed in hospital clinics or opticians. So please contact me if anyone wants to spread the word in their local area.

How about the committee putting together an "e mail pack" on this site then we can all promote the group individually by e mail in our areas (with the pack as an attachment) to the ops and also the eye hospitals?

At one time I set about littering Glasgow opticians' shops with KC group cards! Every little helps.
