Cloudiness

Postby melissa » Wed 13 Feb 2008 7:20 am

I am 1 week post graft (full thickness), and still have some cloudiness in my cornea. My donor cornea was imported and therefore was a bit older than usual (although still within the acceptable time period). My doctor says it absorbed some of the medium that it was stored in and will clear further over the next few days. it has cleared a little already.
did anyone else have cloudiness?

Melissa

I think that this can occur depending on how the cornea was stored between donation and insertion. If your ophthalmologist isn't worried, then I guess you can be confident that things will clear up as he said.

I know that this can be a frustrating time; the surgery is behind you and you just want to be able to see properly. But be patient, the recovery time can be long, but in the end I am sure that it will be worth the wait.

mine (recently grafted eye) looks a bit cloudy from time to time.
Seems t come and go a bit.
SOmetimes I think it is when the drops are being absorbed. Other times not too sure.
Dr didn't seem too worried (assistant, not the consultant I'm changing) at last week's apptmt, but at the time eye was the least of my worries.
