Hi im new to the site, and have just got my first rigid contact lenses, in fact its my first time wearing contacts full stop.
My problem is that at the moment im building up the time i can keep my lenses in, increasing by an hour each day as iv been instructed, but when i go out at night driving and a car comes towards me the headlights appear blurry, the best way i can actually describe it is like looking at a light when youve been crying, and sometimes the tv at home seems a little blurred around the edges, is this normal when getting used to contacts or could it be another problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciaed.

First of all, welcome to the site. I know that wearing RGP corneal lenses takes time, and I hope that when you have built up your daily wear time you are able to get comfortable and sight-enhancing use of your lenses.
The effect you describe could be due to a lot of things. It may be that you have quite viscose tears, and that your 'blink' leaves your lenses smeared by your natural tears. It could be due to all sorts of things.
Do you have an appointment soon with your optometrist? If so, I'd mention that you are having thsi problem. If you do not have an appointment, I'd make one so that I could talk to my contact lens specialist about the experience of wearing lenses. Your contact lens specialist would be able to offer advice on cleaning of your lenses.
All the best. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your prompt response, I was told i dont need to go back for 6 months, unfortunately im now working away from home so booking and getting to an appointment will be difficult, i will just try and get used to the lenses an see if that helps,as it only seems bad at night, would a local optomotrist be able to help as they are only contact lenses at the end of the day? Or am i just a total newbie that knows nothing.

You are not going to like this answer, but it depends on the local optometrist. Some have no great interest in Keratoconus, and no skill in working with people with KC. Others are absolutely excellent.
That said, I always went to the Hospital Clinic, except when I lived and worked in Aberdeen where the Hospital contracted out this sort of business to a hight street optometrist.
The members' section has a list of optometrists that folks here have found to be excellent.
