Conacts fitting (I feel a bit of a fool)

Postby tadiehatley » Sun 14 Oct 2007 2:41 pm

Hi well I went on thurs for my fitting.... I must admit I saw a brillitant bod.... He did some tests and said yes I did have K.C ( which I knew) he had these pretty pictures with different colours on and showd me my naff corneas.... it is worse in my right eye than my left.... but there was nothing he could do about lens until I have had the laser treatment in my right eye .....as he could not see into properly. The waiting lists for laser treatment are long as it is a common treatment post cateract treatment.... so asked if I was willing to go private and get it sorted quicker then he can sort me out some lens... Have not made up my mind wether to go private yet... still thinking but he said the waiting lits was well into the new year....It seems forever trying to get this eye sorted it seams one problem after another... he did say the laser treatemnt would not effect my cornea so that is one good thing..but he sat and explained all about it and suggested I talk to u guys which I said I had.

He did say that because I did not really give lens a chance last time I have not made my eye worse which is what I was told. so I feel relived about that. I told him one of my problems with lens is that I still have to wear glasses for reading, tv, hobbies etc.... and I found it hard putting on and off glasses after having varrie focals for so long... he did say that i cold still have verrie focals with a blank top and going down into my reading script. ehic i think is brill also he say providing my eyes change every time I need lens I can have a N.H.S voucher..so he has my best interests at heart and not just after a quick sale.... So I am pleased on the whole I just hate having to wait to get things started. But I am getting there i think slowly. I got the post info about K.c and it is brill and the D.V.D with the talks about dry eyes and when to have surgery were well worth wacthing ande I learnt a lot so thank you very much right i will shut up now :D
