Is there any harm to be done in changing between solutions for your lenses occasionally? I bought a big bottle of Boston solution, but I want get some Clear Care, because I've heard it's really great. Doesn't seem like it would be a problem, but I just wanna be sure.
Also, I'd like to hear any recommendations for what type of solution works best for some of you. My lenses have been slightly hazy (although a good amount of it has improved), and I suspect that some of the haziness could be due to the solution I'm using.

Tim
When I wore RGP lenses I used Allergan "Total Care" for wetting and soaking. I used Bausche and Lomb "Elite" for daily cleaning and Hydrocare Fizzy protein removal tablets once a week.
I found this mixture of potions suited me; but it is likely that you will find a different combination suits you. We are all different in this as in all things
I cannot think that there would be any great problem about switching your solutions, so long as you always start with a clean and properly wet lens. If you are in any doubt, ask your eyecare specialist.
All the best

Re: switching between RGP solutions/solution suggestions...
Hey there!
Everyone is so different in which product they prefer! I always go for Boston conditioning solution to wet and store my lens but am able to get away with tesco's own cleaner to clean them with as I use protein removal tablets every couple of weeks. Their cleaning solution is so much cheaper! I always rinse my RGP with saline before using the Boston solution as this uses less solution to take off the cleaner. You can go through so many bottles of conditioning solution just doing that!
Optometrists can give you a lot of advice about cleaning your lens as well as being able to see if your eye has reacted with any. I have always been told by mine to clean the lens myself with a finger and not to use the all in one solutions where you just drop them in a case and they clean themselves overnight. I always feel better to do this and have gotten much better vision this way.
A lot of it is trial and error and to try new products. A lot of people can get away with cheaper varieties and supermarkets own, just make sure that they are preservative free as preservatives aren't good for KC eyes.
Hope you find good solutions soon!

Hi
Can't add anything to the excellent advise already given by Andrew & Sweet - other than I have been advised never to actually mix solutions. For example, if you have cleaned them in one make of solution, don't soak them in another make unless you have rinsed off all the cleaning one with saline first. [This is pretty much what Sweet is saying] .... and never mix different solutions in your lens case!
And my optom last week told me that he advises all of his lens wearers to rinse their lenses in saline before insertion anyway! As Sweet says it's cheaper than the lens solutions themselves!
