Good news on the graft front, will try and think of you on the 15th while celebrating my wedding anniversary.

Like you I was excited and daunted at the same time before my each of my grafts. Afterwards I wonderd what all the fuss was about.

I was asked at the confrence about sports glasses. I have tinted safety glasses with a snazzy cord on them which I can pull tight so less chance getting dislodged.

A year or so ago I was asked to look up sports glasses for someone playing squash. All I did was a google search and posted it here, but forgot to save the links on my home pc. Cycle shops are good at doing sports glasses for cycling so worth giving them ago.

don't let the people that mean nothing to you get you down, because in the end they are worth nothing to you, they are just your obstacles in life to trip you up!

:( I have found out today that the hospital were i will be having my op done wont find out till about thursday wether there is a donor available/suitable for me and i wont find out till friday wether my op will take place or not. So feeling a bit gutted and sad. I hope it doesn't get canceled again but it looks like it might I have been warned i might have to wait a long time for a donor to come up as i am only young. I have also read on a website some were that some poor lad who had his transplant done at qmc where i am having mine done had to wait 2yrs for a donor lets hope i don't have to wait that long as i am a high priority case. Any way thats enough of me moaning on.
Take care all
Regards

It would be rude of me to ask your age. :D

I had my first graft at 18 and the wait was not long at all, that was nearly 20 years ago.

Hope the hospital is just being cauteous and everything goes ahead as planned.

Hi Martwoman,

Good luck - I hope it all goes ok.

And at the end of the day, better a suitable donor than an unsuitable one. The unsuitable one could be out drinking all night, smoking, having late parties when all you want to be to do is see...

I'll go now..

Ed :)

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.
KC managed with softperm lens in left eye, Intacs (2/11/07) in right eye

Many of us have been through the anti depresents stage and councelling with it.

You are not alone and counceling can work wonders. That and this support group turned my life around.
