Some good news....

Postby Pat A » Wed 04 Jul 2007 7:47 pm

Hi All
Some of you know that work has been....er.....troublesome in the last few months (and those that don't know, don't worry about it! ) "Troubles" do continue in some aspects which I can't talk about on a public forum.........but some good news is that I have finally been offered a new job (within the large organisation that I work for..) which I have accepted. I start on 1 August. It's going to be tough starting afresh as it's a completely new area of work for me, and very scary as at the moment I have no idea whether I will be able to cope with it, but my prospective manager is very positive that any difficulties with my eyesight can be worked around and fully supported with appropriate adjustments and that I have a lot of skills to offer! Oh boy, does it feels great to be wanted! There's life in the old bird yet!!

And so a message for Eman too in response to your current thread about working, if I can do it, you can - you are still young (I'm an old bag really!) and with help and support from your friends on this forum you WILL overcome your difficulties and get work. It might take a little while but it will happen if you believe it will and are determined. Hang on in there!

don't let the people that mean nothing to you get you down, because in the end they are worth nothing to you, they are just your obstacles in life to trip you up!

Great news Pat.

It shows that after all the trouble you had there are employers who will (eventually) comply with the DDA. At least you didn't have to go down the route I had to take.

It shows that with a little perseverance, and a lot of jumping and shouting we little guys can take on the might of corporate bodies and win.

All the best in the new job Pat

Still waiting for my occ health assessment to start my new job. :(

Karl

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.

Well done Pat.

Any change of job is daunting, I might be in a similar position to you but not KC related!

Hope it all goes well for you.
Gareth
