More Good news....!

Postby Pat A » Mon 02 Apr 2007 10:31 pm

[picking up on your comment John - the following is good news.. for me!]

Having successfully piggy-backed for a week, my GP has now agreed that I can try going back to work at long last!! I'm going back on 16th April, reduced hours to start with and gradually building up to full time again.

As many of you know I've been off for 7 months whilst trying to get first a diagnosis and then my lenses sorted out, and I have been really depressed at times, wondering if I would ever be able to read again, and even wondering if I would ever get back to work at all! I know I'm getting on a bit now but I'm not for the scrapheap just yet!

So I'm really looking forward to it (I think) although it'll be back to the unknown as I haven't actually got a specific job (within the very large organisation that I work for ) to go back to.....but that's another story not for public consumption!!

And my husband is so relieved - I'll have been back to work for a week, and then he retires! I think he was getting worried I'd be around to keep a beady eye on him and stop him playing golf! He he!

So I have to thank you all on this forum for getting me through the last 4 months - you have all been my rock. And I'll hopefully see the London contingent at the social on 15th - the day before I go back to work - so don't let me drink too much please!!

Congrats Pat,

I know how frustrating not working can be, so I'm sure it'll be great to get back out there. :D

Pat,

That is really good news. I am doing a little dance in my chair (you can't tell that I am doing this as my typing is alawys random, so I thought I had better tell you!).

Great news Pat.

Well I've done a few celebratory twirls for you on my chair; a dance would have been far too energetic for me!

See you on the 15th.

Excellent news X2 the piggy back (touch wood) is working) and you are at long last getting what you wanted by going back to work.

Remember to take things steady at first :D

Pat,

Excellent news!!! I had seven months off work as well and was driving myself mad as I couldn't see to do anything and I hated being on sick leave. I kept going on that I wasn't sick!!! LOL!!! I just couldn't see! Hehe!

Great that the piggybacking helped! It is a real life saver for me too! This forum really helped me when I had so much time off work, and I am glad that you have found it so good as well!!

Hope to see you again at the next social!!! :D

Great news Pat.

Looking forward to being given the all clear for me to return to wor, and in the meantime looking for a new job.

An argument that I am using, amongst many others, for a tribunal against an ex employer, on the advice of the Disability Rights Commission and is also specifically mentioned in their Codes of Practice - Employment and Occupation.

So far the tribunal service have accepted my claim, now awaiting employers response.
