The pred forte only stings slightly now the eye is healing, but at first it felt like boiling oil going on to the eye.

Understand what you mean about a deep ache as my son accidentally poked me in the eye yesterday and it hurt all day. Found that for the pain and aches that ibuprofen and diclofenac sodium help the most as both are anti inflammatory painkillers

Yeah mine stung like that the whole time. I always dread putting them in. Funny thing is when I ask at the place I had the op if it's meant to sting they say no..
It doesn't make any sense.

lol well i'll go with what you were told.
Even though they were different drops, they seem to be for the same thing so i'll just assume what i've experienced is normal.

I think sometimes those telling us soemthing will not hurt have never tried doing to themselves what they are telling us to do.

The nurse at my local hospital when I got my contacts told me exactly what it would feel like because part her training included wearing different types of contact lenses. She was spot on how my RGP would feel first time round.
