Hi
I have spent some time looking at your chats i have learnt quite a lot and realise that i'm not on my own with how i feel about hospitals and the medical service as a whole.
I have KC as well as Cone Dystopty(forbive spelliing) i have 50% vision in my right eye which is helped a little when i wear my glasses, my left eye just see's colours and blurs and is very ballon shaped. So i am at a point now where i need to deal with a life i've always known but is really different because each day throws up a new adventure.
What do i do now ?
I guess i'm lucky in some respects because i still work for the moment and the more i discover the better i feel about my future.
This site has opened my eyes to a new world which i already exsisted in(its sounds like something from a filmbut its true).
So now begins the next phase where i hope to discover more.

Awhole new world what do i do now?

jacqui, welcome! glad you found this forum, it is a lifesaver for many of us.
Advice? Learn to rely on other people.....accept the help they want to give you. Learn patience....(my most difficult task). Utilize the system of health services, and assistance to the vision impaired. And last but not least: keep the good crystal pushed back from the edge of the counters and don't leave your shoes in the walkways!!
Many of us can imagine quite accurately what you are seeing and our hearts and thoughts are with you.
Cheers, Piper

You do not have your troubles to seek. KC affecting your corneas and Cone dystrophy affecting your fovea!
How does your cone dystrophy affect your sight. is it a loss of definition, or of colour vision, or both? You hve my unconditional sympathy as you struggle with both eye conditions at once.
At to keratoconus; can you wear contact lenses? I know that when I was first fitted with lenses they made such a difference to me.
Anyway, it is good to welcome you to the forum. Every good wish. You are in our thoughts as you struggle with each new day.
Yours aye
