blood vessels

Postby Sarah M » Tue 02 Jan 2007 12:17 am

from what i can see of my goooooood eye, im guessing they are meant to be there.

however, cornelius has been a little irritable the last few days, so i got out me camera, and much to my disgust, when i zoom in i have a few massive ones. Looking in the mirror, u can see it but it doesnt look abnormal. Does anyone know if this is normal or am i just being paranoid now (im blamin u anne seeing we r graft twins :) its sympathy type of thing).

Out of interest, redness = rejection, but what is redness, obviously everyone different, but can anyone shed some light?

Many thank youssssss

Sarah

Sarah

To make matters even more confusing Redness doesnt mean definite rejection....redness can occur in the first 2 hours of waking, over use of the eye, etc.....I know it gets confusing!....hence why we are told to keep tabs on the eye

The vessells...are they going into the graft tissue?

doesnt take much to confuse me :) its relatively safe to say that its not over use today (i was very lazy)

cause the graft is more to the right of my right eye (this might get confusing), the biggest vessel is comin down from the left and goes up, then stops just before iris, then there are quite a few others that arent so red. then at the right, there is one red squiggly one lookin like its headed for iris too.

Ill wait til morning (well it'll prob b lunch before i get up) see what its saying.

I think all u knowledgeable people should all become doctors.

Sarah

To make matters even more complex, the eyeball is covered with vessells everywhere...so it MAY just be that the ones your saying are just redness?...Are you concerned?...if so Id get down to the Eye place.....one thing I learn after 2 weeks back when I had a kinda of an issue was to heed my own advice and if in doubt get it checked out!...I was slightly lucky in that my Optician sees corneal graft and rejections regularly....so was aware of all the signs.......(not saying your having one!)

Thank u Jay.

I not concerned just now, just like to know things, and then I see things, then worry etc

I'll keep an eye on it, and if it gets worse or if it becomes more annoyin ill go get it checked out...we all know what happened last time with the bulging feeling.

Failing that I have an appointment on the 16th.

Thanks again Jay
Sarah

PS if in doubt - check it out - sounds like something from supermarket sweep does it

I have about a 1 to 2 mm gape between the iris and the nearest group of blood vessels.

The white of the eye is supposed to have blood vessels in. The cornea covers the whole of the iris and a fraction beyond.

Your eye can be red in the morning depending on how you were lying in bed overnight. My eye was always red because I rubbed my face into the pillow at night! Soon cleared up after a couple of hours and a cold wash.

Loose stitches rubbing the eye lid can cause the eyes reflex of going red and watery to try and wash away the problem.

Rejection can be rememberd by RSVP;

Redness
Sensitivity; light or feeling of foreign body in the eye.
Vision; sudden vision changes
Pain; this can range from mild sicomfort to very severe.

Rejection can be on or more of the above and the basic rule is IF IN DOUBT GET IT CHECKED OUT.

Applies to any medical condition.
Gareth
