My own recently grafted eye is a case in point. everything is going extremely well, and within ays of the graft I was using it to read text down to 10pt. I did post the good news, but have not had any reason to post again since! Nothing has gone wrong. I have needed no special advice on how to cope with the range of setbacks that others have met.

Maybe we ought to have s special string, or even a new dedicated forum for exchaning good news!

You hit the nail on the head Andrew. How many times can you actually say that things are fine and what advice can we give about things that we have not experienced?

I admit I was a more prolific poster pre-op as to be honest I was worried and this place was a wonderfull resource of support (and scaremongering!) at the moment though since things are going so well I don't need the same level of support (no offence intended to anyone here as I can see how that sounds) and life carries on pretty much as normal.

I feel it is very important to post the good news and for those who may not feel they need support to give it to others.

The risk is that any new comer takes one look at this site and gets a distorted view of what effect KC may or may not have on them.

Human nature is to latch onto the worst and all too often we have had new people saying they do well with glasses but just been diagnosed and told will need a graft in a few years or they will go blind!

This has happend on many occasions while I have been on this forum and we then have to calm people down.

Good news posted can often give that lift and ray of hope someone who is in complete depsare needs.

There is nothing to be ashamed of by posting good news, so keep it coming.

We are here to help those who need help and gain inspiration and hope from those who do not need help at present.

yes that is it exactly.

I am still managing (just ) with lenses so don't need a graft at the moment (although you wouldn't necessarily know that from my typing! )

For me it is very important to read a mixture of stories so that I feel prepared for the worst but encouraged by the positive and not actually scarred to death!

Sorry to use you in quiite such a self serving manner but there you go

Brigid,

No need for appology, that is exactly what the board is for. I know you have given much back to the forum by sharing your experiences too.
