There are a fair few that have been through this recently.
Five days you probably would have noticed any light sensitivity and irrititation from the stitches is starting to subside now despite the amount of drops you will still be taking.
Some report an improvement even at this early stage, but that was not the case for me, I was like many others who had to wait months before any real vision improvements were noticed.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Gareth

Hi Diane,
I am 22 days post graft now ( i had a DALK graft)
After five days i was still feeling quiet tired and groggy from the GA. My eye was still very red and swollen, it wasn't watering so much and the stickyness in the morning was getting better as well.
I have still only have a slight vision improvement not that i can really notice but that is what i have been told
22 days post graft and i feel fine eye is still a little bit red but apart from that my eye feels great. I just have to remember to use my drops
How are you feeling?
Anne

Hello Diane,
I am 3 weeks to the day post graft now, I got mine done the day after anne, but i had a pk.
5 days after my op...i began to think things weren't feeling right, had what i can only describe as a bulging feeling, usually when i stood up or moved. I stupidly waited another 4 days before i went to casualty to get it seen too. Turns out that i had a leak. I got some another stitch put in last week feeling much much better now....even toying with the idea of going back to work.
As for my vision, i can definately see an improvment (albeit a small one), aaand i can even read christmas cards (ok they need to be practically touching my nose).
So from my limited experience the only advice i can give ya, is if something isnt feeling right get it checked out.
Sarah

Hi Dianne
I am now at day 54 since my DALK. I have begun to benefit from better sight in my most recently grafted eye, but as an indicator of how different we all are, after my first graft (a PK) it took over a year to get to this stage.
It will be really interesting to follow your progress. Would you mind terribly keeping us up to date with how things are going on for you?

Hi all
Thank you for your kind replies and information. I will keep you all informed of how it's all going. At the moment I am still using the steroid drops and the anti biotics. I have no stickiness in the mornings at all, but it still does feel very gritty and sore. To be expected at this early stage i suppose. I see my consultant on Friday for an update. I will be in touch again after this.
