WELL MY CHECK UP WENT WELL AND HE SAID HE WAS PLEASED AND HE WAS SHOCKED WHEN I TOLD HIM THAT I HAD BEEN IN PAIN AND HE APOLOGISED AND SAID THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT ME IN IF HE HAD KNOWN THAT I WAS GOING TO BE IN PAIN .!!
I HAVENT GOT TO WAIL 2 YEARS FOR MY NEXT GRAFT THEY WILL PUT ME ON THE LIST IN 4-6 MONTHS SO THAT WAS ALSO GOOD NEWS. I STILL CANT OPEN THE EYE AND ITS STILL STICKY PAIN IS GETTING BETTER SO YAY.
I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE PAIN AFTER A GRAFT AND SOME DONT. MY CONSULTANT DID SEEM GENUINELY SHOCKED THAT I HAD PAIN AND I DONT THINK THAT PEOPLE VOICE THEIR PAIN AND THEY WONT KNOW THAT A GRAFT MIGHT HURT UNLESS WE TELL THEM, SO I THINK WE SHOULD TELL THEM !!

Good news
Great to hear that things are getting better for you Nicola! I used to tell people grafts weren't painful, based on my own experience and that of lots of other people who told me about their grafts. But then I came across one or two people who had had pain, so I realised it does sometimes happen. No comfort to you I know, but it does seem to be pretty rare. Most of us just find the eye a bit uncomfortable, sticky or watery after a graft, and unhappy when exposed to bright light. But it's important that those people who do experience pain for the first few days tell the hospital about it - otherwise the medics will continue to assume that no one ever has pain with a graft.
I hope things continue to improve for you over the next few days.
