I think you hit the nail on the head with your comment about going back too soon and ruining things Craig. A graft is a big thing, with major implications for the rest of our lives, so it would be crazy not to do everything we can in the first few weeks post graft to ensure that it is as successful as it possibly can be.

From my own experiences I would expect you to be ready to go back after around three weeks, but it could go either way.

I had two nights in hospital with my first graft and one with my second, but what really knocked me for six was how long it took to shake off the affects of the anaesthetic. I felt dopey and not at all myself for at least ten days afterwards.

I am having a graft in 3 weeks. I am a stay at home Mum but my husband has taken three weeks off work to give me time to recover.
After the last few years struggling with three kids under 8 i think its the least i deserve and i am looking forward to taking some time out and resting my very tired eyes.
So on that note give yourself a break. Its not only your eyes you have to think about.

Anyway must go and finish writing list of jobs for hubby

Good luck with op

You are right. The thing here, as in almost every other experience that involves KC, is that we are all different.

After my first graft I was off for six weeks. This time I expect to be back at work after only three. How long is a piece of string? It varies!
