How are you feeling in yourself? Did everything happen how you hoped or expected it to?

Thanks. Yes, things seem to be going alright at present, now three days post op. I am still dragged out feelling and think that it is the effects of the anesthesia on a 55-year old man, not the surgery itself. Virtually no pain, but perhaps because I have a soft contact on the stitches yet to help seal up a puncture made by the needle that let fluid drain out of me eye for the first couple of days. Things went about as expected, thanks to you all for posting all your infomation on this forum. Believe me, YOU OTHER POSTERS are more informative than any clinic staff or doctor. I thank you all, each and every one of you, for that.

I'll be back in the clinic tomorrow to have the soft lens removed and a dye test done to evaluate the leak.

At this time I have one incredibly fuzzy image when viewed with my graft eye. But, as only you all know, one very fuzzy image is a God-send compared to 75-80 overlapping images of everything. At least I have a chance of getting one image that I can correct with lenses of some sort whereas without the graft I was on the downslope to blindness and un-employment, etc.

Thanks for letting us know how you got on. You're probably correct in that the bandage lens is helping you to stay pain-free.

In my case, I'm sure that much of the initial discomfort was my eyelid getting used to the stitches!

Hope your "dye test" goes well. What does that entail, do you know?

Went in for my 4-day check up today. Both doctors were pleased with their work. Personally, I think my visual accuity has dropped off since the bandage removal, but they said that was normal at first. The perforation/leak has sealed itself up. My blood pressure is out of sight, way too high...and I wonder if it is a reaction between my usual BP meds and the drugs/drops I have been using. Or, perhaps, it is the regular use of Tylenlol Extra Strength. I'm ceasing the Tylenol just to be sure and will live with any discomfort as a result.

I touched my eyellid and bent over last evening, causing me pain, sharp, and worry. but, apparently there was no damage. I'll be back in next week for a check up ant then another three weeks later.

At this time I am seeing as if I am looking through a frosted restroom window......everything is a fuzzy pastel picture, no details When will that begin to firm up a little and give me useable images?

With my PK graft, I had reasonable vision immediately post-op, which got worse over the next couple of weeks. Then there was a gradual improvement over a six-month period. I was stable enough to get a refraction after about 9 months.

Of course... we're all different!

I went from 'Eye chart? What eye chart?' the day before both my grafts to being able to read around four line down it the day after. The people at the hospital were very surprised (and I was warned not to expect such good results with my second but it happened again) but it wasn't until I joined here that I began to understand their surprise. I don't remember any further improvement until some months later when I got my first glasses.

Like John said, we're all different - from one extreme to the other and all points in between.
