its a bargain!

Postby Sarah M » Wed 18 Oct 2006 3:59 pm

Sorry if this has been posted before....did have a look back through some old posts, but u know what like....cant see that well (i'm lying, just bloody lazy!)

So my query is this.....if i get my graft in Nov as scheduled, and all goes well......would it be perfectly ok for me to go on a 10 day break to say Cuba in February? :D

Anyone travelled soon after a graft?

Thanks

Sarah

Sarah,

By the time you go to Cuba you'd be three months post graft so may well be off most the post op medication. Might be too early to be fitted with glasses to help correct the vision.

Tell you specialist before you have the op as he is the best person to advise, but there have been others that have gone travelling within the first 12 months of having a graft.

Hi Sarah,

Gareth's right - you should mention this to your consultant; but as long as you're careful not to knock the eye (you're not planning on doing any "dangerous sports" are you) or over-exerting yourself (which can increase the eye internal pressure) then I don't see why not.

Sarah

All the best with the graft and all the best with your trip to Cuba. My mother in law used to love it there.
