Which lens can I try now?

Postby BusyLizzy » Sun 24 Sep 2006 7:35 pm

Hello Peeps,
I've tried RGPs and Aquasil. Allergic to both.
In February this year I was given a PMMA hard lens. I know it's standard practice NOT to give these to patients any longer because they starve the cornea of oxygen.
I find it steams up much too easily and I only wear it a maximum of 6 hours a day.
I was at the eye clinic last week and didn't complain. Last time I mentioned that it steamed up too much and was told that shouldn't be too much of a problem in our climate in Scotland...
What are my other options and how do I get the optician at the hospital to take this seriously?

I look forward to your input.
Keep looking for rainbows.

Scleral, Soflex, Kerasoft, RoseK2,
KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -

And thinking of your other thread, if Paisley can't offer all the lens options Jay mentions, perhaps they could refer you to Gartnavel which can.

I am at Gartnavel and although I haven't been fitted yet, Rose-K lenses were certainly mentioned, so they must have those. I should think they have others mentioned above too.
