I can't wait for after my graft to be able to read the specials board in a resturant, without having to get someone to read it for me or stand there with my nose pressed up aganist it.
Sorry can't help you with the car, you could always stop reading the car forum and be happy with your lot :D .

After my graft I went from terrifying myself driving and walking past friends in the street without recognising them to having sight as good as I'd ever had in my life. Have almost forgotten how bad it was.

My experience of grafts has been totally positive and I'm still completely ignorant of any of the problems I've heard are possible. Hope it stays that way and hope yours is just as amazing as mine so far.

I'll take your advice about that car forum. :)

Barney

You do raise a good point there...and I think when the board gets upgraded there will be a section in the profile where we will be able to add our history...ie 10 yeas KC, advanced, 1 graft etc etc.....at least thats how I assume it would work...John / Gareth can correct me....that way I think people can see how far advanced the poster has KC.....

Losing Job I wish

Postby Tammy Again » Fri 22 Sep 2006 10:32 pm

When I was first diagnosed getting things sorted at work was a pain, and some 'reasonable' adjustments took 15 months. But I dont think losing the job is a problem any more, we have just had an excerscise where people could apply for voluntary redundancy and I was turned down.

Strugling at the mo with migraines, odd vision tired eyes etc. don't know if my glasses prescription can be adjusted or whether I should try contactcs again. But all in all devleoping KC rather later in life than the average has presented challenges. Not drivng I find difficult as it's restrictin (or more to point really miss riding motorbike).

Rather than this forum being the worst of us cases, it's proabaly not all of us but it's probably a cross sectional reperesentation of the whole of us. Not everyone who posts has problems. If you are having problems the solution is more than likely to be somewhere here in these pages. We like to support each other and there are a lot of people who post here I feel privalaged to have 'known'.

Anyway, good luck
