Sick

Postby Sweet » Wed 20 Sep 2006 2:34 pm

Have just phoned in sick for nights as i have a really bad chest infection, this always gives me bad asthma which i never normally suffer with and as i have had pneumonia twice before i need to be careful. How come though that when you are sick with anything your eyes really hurt and ache so much? Are they just trying to get some sympathy as well?! LOL!

i think that a few days lens free is needed and some time asleep though i can never give in and take it easy. Oh well ... will try! Take care everyone.

Get well soon and take it easy! My wife started with pneumonia and ended up with brittle asthma! I obviously don't want to be alarmist but she is now disabled! She told me to tell you that everything hurts when you have pneumonia! Please take care of yourself!

Sweet,
Thanks, she's fine, she has adjusted well. I wouldn't want to swap places with her but she does have 6/4 6/4 eyesight.
In the car she acts as my eyes almost, especially looking for road signs. She cannot drive because of her asthma, she can have an attack anytime. But as I say, she is fine, I have even got her up in the hills. Its a slow ascent but well worth it, she is a fighter!
Take care (but you know that already!)

Bad cold this week

Postby Tammy Again » Fri 22 Sep 2006 11:16 pm

It's funny but I've had a bad cold this week and have a hacking smokers a cough. Must give up the occasional rolly.

I noticed that my eyes are drier than usual, and the gunk that builds up in em is building up quicker this week as a result of the cold.

The worst of the cold hit last weekend so Mondfay struggled in as I'd had thurs/fri off sick last week with blured eyes and 'tummy probs' (I think some of the lubricating drops give me the trots but that's another matter). So I've struggled ij work as one of those beggars gave me the cold in the first place, ha. Bit dif though if yer a nursey....

Yes when I've got a cold my eyes hurt more. Steam may help.

Get well soon,
Allergic to loads you only have to ask but be prepared to be bored!

Tammy,

I think you're supposed to put the drops in your eyes, not drink them

I'm trying hard to stay away from the cold until after my graft on October 27.

Sweet, are you taking antibiotics and drinking plenty of water?
