I just have a digital egg timer on the desk, when I start at the computer, I set it to 30 mins and press start.

I brought mine from the local electronics store (Dick Smith here in Oz).
You might even be able to get one from a supermarket.

Foul!

I'll have you know that I do plenty of cooking in my house! I just don't use a timer...or a recipe for that matter.

Hey, thanks for all the replies everyone, as well as all of the positivism.

It's been quite comforting reading through your postings, describing the eye stain just the way that I do. I have also had trouble trying to describe it to friends and optometrists and neither seem to understand its effect upon fatigue levels. It's been very interesting to hear about (Kirsten and Matthew) looking for alternative causes of the fatigue and getting blood tests. I'd never thought of it like a fatigue causing disease / condition but I suppose it is. The annoying part is that it's not recognised in any way; when you you're tired (can't be bothered to do anything or look anywhere) and say you're suffering from some eye strain, people don't really have an understanding.

Anyway, thanks for the tips on glasses and for cutting down on eye strain.

Hi Richard,

I was interested to see you post as I also suffer with fatigue. It is getting worse and I have been to see a few drs, had bloods done and was eventually told that I might have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but that regular exercise would help!

I am soooo tired by midday that when I come home from work for lunch it is a struggle to stop myelf falling asleep, and occasionally I have had to set the alarm to wake me up, just incase I did nod off during Neighbours!

Also if I have a whole day out, I am so exhausted the next day I have to stay in and mainly rest as I feel awful, almost flu-like.

Matthew,

Hope you are not like my wife who uses the smoke alarm to say when the food is cooked.

On the plus side, no chance of food poisening in our house :D

That sounds canny bad like Sandi.

I must admit that the fatigue I experience doesn't affect me that much; it may be because my KC isn't that developed yet. If you do have a general fatigue problem then it sounds like the KC isn't going to really help matters.

I must admit that getting exercise does help matters tremendously, but I'm sure it's just a general thing for the common person (releasing endorphins and all). I'm also sure that a diet full of fruit and veg will help, with the downing of bananas for feel good energy as a particular favourite of mine. Obviously the regular cleaning of contact lenses and the regulating of screen watching will help.

However, I do understand the irony of fatigue being whether you can be bothered to do these things all of the time. Routines are impotant I suppose.

Good luck with it, there's nothing worse than losing your drive and general spirit.
