Louise

While I have never resorted to the catharsis of a good scream, I do know the frustrations of living in the middle of intrusive noise from which there is no obvious escape.

It always seems odd to me that when you are working next to a jack-hammer, the man operating it is required to wear ear protection, but the poor folk whose enviro9nment is being shattered are given no consideration at all!

all the best.

I know that feeling. Having three children the intrusive noise can be unbearable :) I have locked myself in the bathroom before and let out a little scream!!

I have had great problems with Moorfields taking ages to supply me with the contacts I paid for - seven and a half months, including two "lost" orders, several trips to Moorfields and a small fortune in phone calls since i paid for them - and it transpired I shouldn't have paid for those after all.
Result of this experience is:
If you haven't heard fro them next week when they say they will be in touch, ring up MEH and ask for Jim Spendley in Supplies. Have your hospital number ot hand, and explain the situation to him, noting that you were promised a phone call by now and haven't heard from anyone.
Step 2: if you can't get hold of Jim, ring up someone called Patrick O'SUllivan, 020 7566 2225, who is "General manager" of sections of mEH that include contact lenses and supplying same. He has recently been dealing with a set of complaints I made. Feel free to mention my name to him.
Step 3: if you're still unhappy, write to your MP with complaint about your treatment, and ask him/her to refer the matter to the Health Minister to be taken up by them with the MEH Trust. Its Chairman is the (disgustingly slimy....!) Sir Thomas Boyd Carpenter, who thinks the social model of disability means putting wheelchair ramps at the front doors (!) but has just sent me a letter of apology for the recent no-lenses saga I had to go through. Admittedly, it was addressed to Harry Cohen, MP, but it did arrive!
GOod luck! - and kkep us posted.

Thanks for the info. Well it will be a week tomorrow so i will give them to Thursday and then i will ring them.

I am feeling a bit fed up now. Because i am back in the situation where nothing is happening. Last week i was all sorted and was going to have a graft and now nothing :( :?
Not really in the mood to take on Moorfields.

Great news, Anne.
Hope the lenses duly arrive and work out well.
Do keep us posted.
For everything I say about "the system" at Moorfields, Jim in Supplies does seem to be mighty efficient and sorted out - maybe he's been on your case already.
I do wonder, though, if MEH have a "mole" reading this and deciding to pull out the finger...... before they get any more letters from ROsie Winterton maybe....
