Still alive

Postby Paul Osborne » Tue 06 Jun 2006 7:45 pm

Just got a pm (thanks - you know who you are), so thought I should announce that rumours about my death are greatly exaggerated (can't remember who said that).

Haven't really had anything to say that has not already been said, some of you guys and girls are just too trigger happy on the posting front. :-)

Anyway, George's (SWMBO named it) vision is good, absolutely clear with no foggyness, slight double vision (consultant said he will look at that later on), distance is reasonable but not fantastic, will need glasses/contacts to get best vision but that was expected anyway.

Still not keen on bright light, so sun glasses and a cricket hat help there, though I do get odd looks at work but thats NMP.

Eye feels like something has been done to it, but its not painfull or irritating which is great as now for the first time in years I dont feel a need to rub it all the time. How much of that is down to hayfever tablets though I don't know.

Had a rotten sneezy cold a couple of weeks back, that made the eye water and ache a bit. George was not pleased.

Have written to the donors family - felt it was the right thing to do.

Feel fine, nice to be back at work (GP made me have 8 weeks off!) now Occupational Health are only letting me work part time for at least the next couple of week. Still musn't grumble.

Other than that dunno about sex affecting KC, but corneal graft is affecting the sex life as wife is concerned that it will pop off! At least she isnt as concerned now as she was a few weeks ago. :-)

Take care

Paul

Yes, something did happen: I went on holiday and had a wonderful time deporting myself about the world's most beautiful city in glorious sunshine!

Pavement cafes provided adequate sustenance for the day time and some of the finest restaurants on the planet provided nourishment in the evening. I even got used to going out for breakfast!

It all cost an inordinate amount of money, but it was a lot cheaper than a daily visit to the ballet, so I count it good value!

I wore my hat and sunglasses, used liberal quantities of systane (I thought I'd give it a try). :D

Manchester is probably the second most beautiful city that I have ever worked in. (when I first left school I worked in the CIS building on Miller Street.)

So not Manchester ... but where could it be?
