I cannot wear my lens in my right eye today.
It keeps watering and is sore (due to trying the new lenses yesterday).
BUT i have a red rim around the outside of my cornea ive never noticed this before. It isnt very thick but its wierd.Something seems different.Hard to explain
Its not from the lens yesterday cos its a small lens and doesnt go round the outer edge.
Any ideas peeps.
whats this?

Could be because you tried the other lens and it wasnt right; or you may have been over wearing the other lens, or it could even be a infection.....really hard to say
But if its causing concern and has got worse dont mess about and get down to A&E or your eye clinic......regardless of what anyone else says here........

KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -

Yes i would agree to go and get it checked out if it feels different and you are not happy with it. It could be with overwearing or trying a new lens but even if we were qualified we can't see you! So i would go on the side of caution and get it checked just to be sure
Good luck with it!

That sort of "flush" round the cornea definitely means you have a problem. As Sweet says, even I can't tell as a professional, as I can't see whats going on!
It could be anything from an abrasion to a viral infection to iritis to a reaction to the solution you are using.
If it has been getting worse during the day, then pop along to A&E. If its holding and going down slightly, then check it out tomorrow with either your eye clinic or A&E or a local optometrist.

In january I got a small ring on the sclera that filled out red. What I had done was nick a blood vessel somehow, but I had no pain. This happend while I was in hospital, just happend to be the one without the eye unit.
The hospital let me call the eye unit who said it was probably nothing, however they would still like me to go to the eye casualty to make sure. So went into theatre, had my operation and as soon as I had c ome round was put in the ambulance to the next town for the eye casualty who said they were right, it was nothing to worry about but were glad I had gone.
Eye casusaltys are not always open at the weekend, but they do have an optomotrist and opthalmologist on call if you go to the normal A&E. Just explain the problem and they will get the specialist in to see you.
They all say it is best to play it safe and go to A&E.
As Lynn says she can not give advice as she can not see you.
Regards
