Peak flow is only a worthwhile measurement if you use the device properly just like using an inhaler.

Friend at work has one and hers prints out a little graph and records all the other info for the hospital to download to their computer when she has a consultation.

Even we don't have such a fancy machine and we develop the inhalers!

Well of course :)

That sounds like a nifty machine, Gareth... I've got to draw my own graphs and show the doc!

No cheating

Will you be plotting your own fancy graphs using the computer or good old fashioned graph paper?

Well, the doctor's first question was "are you any good with a PC?"... so I guess I'll have to showcase my Excel skills!

Oh dear.

Today is my second morning without taking the oral steroids, and yet again, vision through my grafted eye is "cloudy".

I'm sure that there is a chance that there is still some pred. in my system at the moment, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I may be heading towards the local eye casualty unit tomorrow :(

Yes steroids do take a while to work through your system which is why they usually reduce the dose and don't just stop them completely. Hoping it gets better soon.

(Sharp intake of breath)

will be thinking of you tomorrow as you either set off for casualty or awaken to a clear vision of the world.

John

Only just caught this.. steroids can cause raised intraocular pressure for which you are already taking xalatan.

Raised intraocular pressure in itself can cause oedema (cloudy cornea) and your cornea is more at risk due to low endo count.

To be on the safe side, pop down to casualty anyway and get it checked out!

Thanks for the note Lynn.

Yes, if vision is still cloudy tomorrow, I'll certainly be headed in the direction of a slit lamp!
