What factors have a bearing on waiting time for transplant?

What factors have a bearing on waiting time for corneal transplant after you have consented to being included on the waiting list?

NHS or private patient?
Age?
Location?
etc

I don't think age comes into it, some hospitals have longer waiting times because they have more patients awaiting surgery but I don't know how it works with supply of corneas to banks and whether that also impacts on waiting time. Obviously paying for it means you get it quicker as with any private healthcare
