Too much of a tear layer!!

Postby jay87 » Sun 29 Jul 2012 12:53 pm

Hi Al

I currently wear Jack Allen RGPS, and am looking to buy a pair of Boston XO2s for their ultra high oxygen permeability, to see if they are more comfortable. Overall though I do get very good vision with RGPs. I do however get blurry eyes sometimes, due to too many tears!! My eyes produce alot of tears, and sometimes they build up and blur my vision! I have to close my eyes, roll them around in my head and open them again to clear it! I get tears at the corners of my eyes and on my cheek sometimes aswell!!

Anyone got any ideas on how I can lessen this affect?

Thanks

I know this may sound counterintuitive, but I wonder whether you have ever thought of adding artificial tears to the mix? Maybe the addition of extra lubrication would lessen the production of your natural tears and help overcome the problem.

Before you do anything, ask your eye care professional for advice. If you do decide to try artificial tears, make sure you use preservative-gree drops (my favourite is Clinitas Soothe, but I know that others favour other brands).

Every good wish.
