update of doom

Postby space_cadet » Fri 11 Jun 2010 12:31 am

so as you may remember a fortnight back I got to the hospital to be told my appolintmetn was apparently 2 days prior and no chance of a sooner one for 10 days.

had said appointment on wednesday, bad news

the stitches in EXACT same positions as from March's op had failed, iritaed, infected worse than ever before, as good as hidding, so were removed their and then.

Major scarring now under the cornea, so esentialy as rejected but not heard the R word just yet.

Burst blood vessles which is why its been so sore, Andrew don't ahve a go, I know I should ahve got it seen to wtih the pain and redness and sensitivity but put it down to hayfever and as told theird be no consultant or seniors around for 10 days was in mindset of pointless to find otu if anything else wrong.

consulsions, more anti biotics including one they ahve to make specially which i was ment to start asap but due to a incompetant hospital pharamcey (they refuse to let me get a local pharmacy to fill the script on it) should be starting it in th emorning well if they ahve it taht is) it is to be used every half hour im awake!

back to see consultant monday, and told to "expect the worse"

so yah once more "there is textbook KC, iregular KC, then the Lea KC which is obscure and breaks all rules going" sigh

 shame lea- that doesn't sound good. try to relax and take it easy this weekend. it may only be one eye, but the infections will put a strain on your body and relaxing will help them heal faster....
i hope it all feels better soon....

Sorry to hear Lea.

For some of us there seems to be a long and uncertain road to better vision, take the best care of your eyes you can and don't dwell too much on the things you cant do right now. I'm in a similar position with a 'failed' intac, and cataract in 1 eye and not too sucessful graft in the other. Right now I have almost no independence outside the house which drives me crazy some days, cant drive, very limited work (using a magnifying glass!). I keep myself sane by listening to radio/music/audio books and messing around on my computer. I have faith that one day I will see better and have my life back.

best wishes for monday

Oh Lea!!
what a horrific story. SO sorry to hear you've been having such a rotten time.
Hang in there - don't let the medics get you down, and hope things look up soon.
