Most people here know that I have every confidence in my local hospital contact lens clinic, and that I am extremely happy with the high street optometrist whom I visit for non- contact lens optometry.
Gareth did raise an interesting question in another string. Given that we cannot know before we walk through the door whether an optometrist has any interest in KC or skill in fitting keratoconic eyes, are there questions that we can ask to help us know which optometrist we ought to consult.
I really do not want to add another list, neither do I want anyone's horror stories, but any advice on what questions have helped users would be good.

Re: Questions to ask a High Street Optometrist
My main questions would be what experience, number of clients with KC and how recent is their knowledge of current and new lenses. My other question would be how have they gained their knowledge.
In some respects i am lucky in that my high street opticians fits CL to KC eyes for the NHS (outsourced from hospital). It means that i can get in quickly to see someone who knows KC eyes (and my history in particular).
