Not feeling good :( Off sick again :(:(

Postby Sweet » Mon 21 Sep 2009 1:47 pm

I am off work again, this time not KC related.

This is my third week in a MS relapse and I am climbing the walls :( My bottom, legs and feet feel numb and cold, though I can feel them by touch. Am having difficulty walking and with balance and for the last few days am having trouble lifting my right foot to walk :( I am ten times more tired and struggle to get out of bed each day. Everything is just so much effort :(

Work are being very supportive, I changed jobs because I needed less hours in a shift and a slower pace whereas 'A & E' was extremely busy! But I am driving myself mad :( I know I can't complain I have been on a day ward for two years with no relapse, but I hate being off work. I know I can't work like this, I can hardly walk, but I guess I am feeling sorry for myself :(

As I haven't been working I thought that now would be a good time to wear kerasoft lenses and not piggy backing as I won't need to see as well as in work. Today is the 11th day and my vision is nowhere near where it was :( I know why this is, my cornea has changed now that I am not wearing a RGP but I have been so tempted to put it in as I am more depressed now. :( I can't walk well, am in pain moving my legs and now can't see well. I can't suffer with morning tv anymore!!! I just want to go back to work, am so lost sitting here at home being unable to do anything.

Sorry to moan.

Am getting kerasoft lenses checked tomorrow and hoping that it has been worth it! On a good note, went to Moorfields last week and they said that the blood vessels they were worrying about are a lot better :) This makes the whole point of me trying a soft lens a positive one. I only went to try my grafted eye that couldn't tolerate a lens, but after being told that I had less oxygen getting through piggy backing on the other eye and there being a lot of blood vessels showing I knew I needed to stop piggy backing. :( Shame as I saw so dam well!

Anyway ... am leaving now as my legs have gone completely numb and will have trouble standing if I stay here too long!

Trying new lenses is a good use to which to put time off work. All the best; and take care of yourself. (let John nurse YOU for a wee change) :)

Keeping you in my thoughts darling, rest well and I hope this latest set back doesn't hinder you for too long.

Oh Claire!
So sorry to hear you've been so unwell.
Hope the relapse wears off soon and you're ack to normal.
Good luck with the kerasoft fitting. Sounds like encouraging news about the veins at least.

Lou,

The comfort is fantastic! I can wear them for 15 hours a day and forget that they are in!

The only problem right now is the vision, but I know that I need to get them changed as my cornea will have changed since stopping wearing a RGP.

The left grafted eye is brilliant, I see four lines when I couldn't tolerate a lens before! I know that this isn't going to get a lot better as I have a lot of scarring. This was before the graft, but it is lovely to see with both eyes!!

Ok, am going to get ready as am seeing Lynn to check lenses this afternoon.

Thanks for all the lovely replies, am trying to take it easy. Love Claire X x X
