(((Friends)))

Hi there!

I would just like to drop in and say a huge thank you to everyone here who posts and reads and keeps this community going. Without everyone giving in a little something this place wouldn't exist! I know that I haven't been here for a little while, have just been dealing with teeth and M.S. problems, but I am getting there! In the middle of all of this I managed to take out my soft lens and leave the RGP behind (I piggyback) and scratched my cornea! Gee things never come one at a time eh?! LOL!! Thanks to John who took me to Moorfields late in the evening where they gave me antibiotics and some anaesthetic to ease the pain. Thanks for John asking for another dose as I was almost crying in pain and demanded him! Hehe, I do wonder sometimes how he puts up with me!!!!

I am going to need to thank him as well in advance before I have another op on my teeth tomorrow. Yes I know, very bad timing when Christmas dinner is so near!!! LOL!!! But from my last op, I have a hole from where they removed my back tooth into my sinus cavity and have been in so much pain and couldn't eat much! Tomorrow they are going to fix it, but I'm sure it will hurt as much as last time so I thought I should come here quick and post before I'm hurting too much again! And no, thanks for the offer, but I do NOT want my Christmas dinner pureed!!!!! :D

Ok ...Thanks to all the optoms and opthalmologists who have seen me this year! Not as many as I normally see!! LOL!! But I have been very well behaved and looked after my lenses until the recent accident!! Thanks to my surgeon S. Daya who is checking in with me and the DALK he did. It is settling down and the creases I have always had are getting a little better. Patience I know!

Thanks as well to the M.S. people I have seen who have helped since I was diagnosed. To my lovely consultant who is about to retire and to my last nurse, I know, I need to see my new one now! I didn't want to stop seeing her, but moving into John's puts me in another area of care! Hehe, I know this isn't the M.S. forum! But hey, a thank you goes a long way wherever it is left!! :)

And thanks to my eyesight which has given me another year of good vision! :) I am very grateful for that, even when I complain that my lenses are killing me, that they get foggy and I have to keep rinsing them and also when I get a terrible headache when I don't wear them and can't see! I know that it is so easy to complain and go on about own vision being so bad and yes it really can be. I remember the seven months of being blind and feeling totally isolated from the world, but this Christmas I am going to look back and see how far I have come since then. Sorry, that pun wasn't intended! While our vision changes so quickly it is so easy to think on all the bad times, but this also needs to be balanced with the good times. When I just took my vision for granted and just expected it to be ok. In K.C. I'm sorry but this is never just going to happen and we should expect excellent vision. But we can give ourselves a good chance by being patient, working together and taking as much help as we can.

I just want to wish everyone the most fantastic Christmas and to say that wherever you are with your vision it will get better. :) Loads of love and hugs Claire X x X
