Cornea graft - Decision

Postby crakerjacker » Wed 03 Sep 2008 7:44 am

Well..... I've finally decided

I have contacted my consultant and informed him i wish to proceed with the graft. Scary!

Thanks to ll who have reponded to my questions and posts. No doubt i will be bugging you all in the future for help and things.

Does ayone know about flying after a graft? I am due to go on holiday in March and my consultant seemed to think i will be having the graft in approx 3 months.

All the best. Keep us posted on your progress; when you get your theatre date, pre-theatre assessments etc.

Every good wish.

Good Luck Crackerjak.
I don't regret my graft for a moment, and have been very lucky with the vision. I am 6 months post PK and have about 6/9 uncorrected. I was very lucky.

Flying---I flew from SA to France (Via London) 8 weeks after graft for a skiing trip- with my doctor's consent. No problems except the normal dry-eye from the air in the plane...lots of drops.
But get YOUR doctor's approval....
Melissa
