Hi all
It has been a very long time since I have been on any KC discussion boards and I have read with interest the information on C3R. I was wondering, does anyone know if it (and intacs) can be done on a post DALK eye? I had DALK on my left eye about 5 years ago. Unfortunately, due to the depth of the scarring, I have never been able to get good vision with my left eye (although I had enough of an improvement that with glasses I can see enough to function If I need to, but I am very dependant on my right eye which is being treated with Rose K lenses). I recently saw an optician who attempted to fit a lens on my left eye for the first time to see if they could improve my vision. Unfortunately, the residual cone is right at the bottom of the eye and all the lenses they tried kept popping off. She mentioned I could consider a lens that covers the entire eye, i.e. a scleral lens. However, I am wondering whether intacs together with C3R could be an option. Any ideas?

Re: Post DALK & C3R
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Both Intacs and crosslinking are pre-graft options (usually for mild to moderate KC) and as far as I know, no-one is offering them post graft. Crosslinking is designed to strengthen the cornea and stop the progression of KC - a graft has already done that!
But scleral lenses are specifically designed to cope with eyes of any shape, and quite a few people wear them post graft. So well worth a try.
Good luck
Anne
