Hi Everyone!
I am off to Trinidad on 11th May to do some lecturing at a conference at a Trinidad hospital. I have worked there before, so know Trinidad quite well and indeed it was there that my already keen interest in KC was honed, as the incidence rate there is awesome. There are really only RGP options there and even grafting is a difficult option as there are no eye banks on Tnt so they have to travel to the US to get grafted... which frankly doesn't happen unless you have "plenty money"!
RGPs are hard to tolerate there because of climate, which is why I got involved in starting to bring in soft lens options. I am also trying to help set up a Trinidad KC Self Help Group - its a bit difficult as internet access is not as easy as here in the UK for many people and visually, most of the people who want to be active simply can't see at the moment!
I have set up a website here with an attached discussion board but the only member so far is the father of a boy I am seeing when I get there...
I'd appreciate it anyone could find the time to post there just to say Hi and maybe talk to them once they get the courage to post.
I am hoping to collate a fair bit of data when I am there and also gather pictures and so on which I will post up on my website.

All the best with your trip to Trinidad. Strange the lengths to which some people will go in order to escape from the dread oilseed rape plant in full bloom!
I know that you have long had a deep love of Trinidad and its people, and you go to them with a potential to bring ease to many KC sufferers who struggle with RGP corneal lenses. Every good wish.
I followed your link and found the link back to this site. Thanks for that. It'll be good to see new members joining from the West Indies. Meantime your membership of one is sure to grow!
