Hypromellose problems
I'm having difficulty obtaining my regular repeat prescription of hypromellose eye drops from the pharmacist. There are 2 brands I can use happily but she can only obtain another brand which I can't use. The reason I can't use it is because the bottle/nozzle structure is softer and more often than not it ends up squirting out at an angle! I tried explaining this but I don't think she grasped it. She insists she can't get the 2 brands I can use. So I went to another pharmacy and he said he can get it, but that the availability of any brand is never guaranteed, so this could mean I end up trawling from pharmacy to pharmacy. Incredibly annoying!

Did you get this sorted out? I get mine from Boots, but I also see these drops sometimes at one of our local Tescos (but not the other).

Still ongoing Andrew, got one half of the script from another chemist, then the 2nd half came back as the brand I can't use!

I guess that this is the problem of generic prescribing. If your doc was able to write the actual brand name of the product that you can use on the script you would be spared a lot of trouble!
All the best

Unfortunately that wouldn't solve it if the pharmacist can't obtain it
